Evelyn Bracken
1929 ~ 2007
Evelyn Jane Blackett Bracken, age 78, passed away peacefully at home Aug. 21, 2007 in Hurricane, Utah, surrounded by all her children. Mom was born in Birch Creek, Utah to Thomas Herman Blackett and Irva Despain Blackett. Mom grew up in Nephi, Utah and graduated from Juab High School. She married
Newell Hugh Bracken on May 24, 1947, and was later sealed in the Manti Temple.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, make quilts, exercised at the pool every morning, and most of all going to concerts and vacationing with her sisters and friends.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Ramos, Laurel Daniels (Jack), Michael Bracken (Kathy), Jennifer Bracken (Jeff), Patricia Larsen (Clair), Gayle Ann Avilla (Bubba), 15 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; sisters, Loeta Howarth, Rae Coombs, Kae Parks (Clifford), sister-in-law, Nadine Blackett.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Evan Blackett.
Funeral services will be held Aug. 24, 2007, 1 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, Utah. Friends may visit from 12-1 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
