George Houston 1943 ~ 2007 Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandpa, George Howard Houston, age 63, of Neola, died with his son, Tracy, in an out of control wildfire June 29, 2007. He was born December 26, 1943 in Bennett, UT to Ray Dillman and Emelyn Swenson Houston. He married Margie Ross June 14, 1963 in Bridgeland, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple February 23, 1983. George loved and adored his wife of 44 years. They were always together in work and play. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved to travel in recent years with his wife. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was a worker in the Vernal Temple. George liked to work hard. He was an employee of the US Forest Service for 41 years and owned and operated a cattle ranch. He enjoyed being in the out of doors, hauling wood in the mountains, building fence, helping his family with their 4-H show animals, and always had his dog, Woofy, at his side. George was liked by all those that knew him and he was a wonderful friend and neighbor, helping whomever he could. He will be missed by everyone. He is survived by his wife, Margie, Neola; daughter, Teresa Lynn (Rusty) Cornwall, Riverside; sons, Gregory Max (Tonya) Houston, Blackfoot, ID, Howard Shane (Heather) Houston, Santaquin; daughter-in-law, JaLynn Houston, Neola; grandchildren, Shalayne, Emily, Britney, Haley, Duane Jay, Cassie Houston, Shaun Marie, Nicole, Jordan, Landon Cornwall, Marlise, Derek, Taylor, Lane George, Dustin Houston, Madison, Courtnie, and twins, Dillon Edward and Parker George Houston; brothers and sisters, Gary Ray (Diane) Houston, serving at the Cove Fort LDS Mission, Theda Batty, Vernal, Shirley (Perry) Brown, Missoula, MT, Mary Baldwin, Lehi, Lana (Craig) Goodrich, Vernal; mother-in-law, Arta Ross, Arcadia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Stanley Max Ross. Funeral services were held jointly with his son's, 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Roosevelt West Stake Center. Burial was in the Neola Cemetery under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
