Nile Nielsen Taylor 1909 ~ 2007 Nile Nielsen Taylor, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, age 97, passed away on January 22, 2007 at home of causes incident to age. Nile was born Sept. 22, 1909 in Preston, Idaho, to James Daniel and Teressa Nielsen Taylor. He married Margaret Edna Dalton Dec. 2, 1936, in the Salt Lake Temple. Nile was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, sons (Gary, Henderson, NV; Brent [Salt Lake City; Doug [Sandy, UT]; Dean [Idaho Falls, ID]), daughter (Kathleen Underlin [Sandy, UT]), brothers (Daniel [Ogden, UT]; Ray [Fairview, ID]); sister (Donna Lou Vassar [Hayward, CA]) nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren Nile spent his early years working on the family farm/ranch in Banida, Idaho, in the northern Cache Valley. He loved horses, cattle and working the land. He served as a missionary for the LDS Church in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta Canada in the Northwestern States Mission. Following his mission he attended BYU and the University of Idaho, graduating with a degree in agriculture sciences. He worked as a teacher, county agent, Idaho Farm Bureau agent, and salesman. After retiring, he continued to reside in Salt Lake City, and continued to raise cattle, alfalfa and wheat on the family farm in Idaho. He loved the land and these were some of the happiest years of his life, which continued into his early 90s. During the latter years of his life he enjoyed serving as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. Nile tried to do the things that he believed to be of greatest importance in life: To be a faithful disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ; care for his family, help other people, serve where he was called to serve in the LDS Church, and do the other ordinary things of life that he believed in and enjoyed. He appreciated his blessings in life, including the friendship of people beyond his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007, at 11 am in the Brighton 4th Ward Chapel, 2301 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South), Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call at the place of service 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. He will be buried in the Preston City Cemetery, Preston, Idaho. Cannon Mortuary Funeral Directors.
