Donna Rose Boren Edwards Prettiest Girl in Town Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and "Prettiest girl in town", returned home to her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer. Donna Rose was a purple hat in a straw hat world. She was born August 1, 1925 to Ellis and Frances Lessar Boren in Wallsburg, Utah. She married William Homer Edwards on August 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they lived in California, Logan, Roosevelt, and Salt Lake City. Donna worked for Mountain Bell, starting out as an operator at a switchboard, and ended up as a manager in the Business Office. She was a very flamboyant woman, who always dressed in beautiful clothes and pretty jewelry. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing dinners and parties for the Holidays. Donna was very talented in crafts and sewing and has made many beautiful vests and items for her loved ones. Through the years, her husband and children have raised unique animals. Donna never cared much for the animals, but allowed them because of the joy they brought to her family. Thanks Mom! Her favorite thing to do the last 15 years was to meet Doris and their friends every Saturday morning at McDonalds for a Diet Coke. Donna was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Billie Gae (Jody) Reese, Logan; sons, Dale Russell (Lee Anne), West Bountiful; Don Homer (Sharon), Sandy; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill (Norma) Boren, SLC; J.D. (Norma) Boren, Mesa, AZ; Jeniel (George) Apostol, Midvale; Ron (Janet) Boren, Sandy; brother and sisters-in-law, Elmo and Maree Nelson, SLC; and Pearl Labrum, Roosevelt; dear friends, Doris and Al Bennion and many others-too numerous to name. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Russell Boren. The family would like to thank Sheila and Sherry from Hospice. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 14, 2006, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Little Cottonwood 16th Ward, 6350 So. Rodeo Lane (1545 E.) where friends and family may also gather one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Murray City Cemetery. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.jenkins-soffe.com
