Harriet Emily Hill Lynn 1901 ~ 2006 OGDEN - Emily Hill Olsen, passed away on September 12, 2006. She was born the fourth child of a family of nine children to Edwin C. Hill and Elizabeth Montgomery Hill on February 25, 1901 in North Ogden, Utah. At the age of two the family moved to Liberty, Utah where she was raised. She married John A. Olsen on November 5, 1921. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of three children, Bernice, LaVar and LaMar (twins). They were later divorced. In 1937 she married Joseph Johnson, he died in August 1969. In May 1973, she married Robert B. Lynn, he died in 1986. Emily worked at the Ogden Arsenal and later Hill Air Force Base until her retirement in 1965. After her retirement she traveled, spending six weeks with her son LaVar and his family at Laon AB, France. Touring France, Belgium, and Italy. Later she spent three months at Ramstien AB, Germany with her son and toured Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and England. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters. Also, preceding her in death was her daughter, Bernice Olsen Wilde, and one son LaMar A. Olsen. She is survived by one son LaVar J. Olsen (Bernice) and six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren. Thanks and appreciation to the nurses and health aids to the Heartwood Hospice for their diligent care given to Emily. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2006 at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
