Craig Merrell Gomm 1947 ~ 2006 Craig Gomm passed away quickly July 31, 2006 at the age of 58, due to injuries sustained in a car accident while traveling with his parents in Lehi, Utah. His father, E Merrell Gomm, also passed away in that accident. Craig was born in Logan, Utah to E Merrell & Beverly Gomm on October 12, 1947. His parents moved the family to Azusa, California while he was young, where he graduated from Azusa High School. Craig received his Duty to God award and served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission. He was a man of great stature and proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he sustained life-long injuries. He then worked for Maxfield's Candy Co. in Salt Lake City. He married Kathy Ekstrand on October 21, 1972, with whom he had eight children but eventually divorced. He returned to his parent's home in Azusa, where he head grown up. Craig is survived by his eight children: Thomas (Wendy), Daniel, Orrin (Jody), Bradley, Tenderly, Deborah (Scott) Smith, Steven, Cassie (Brad) Johnson, David (Lindsey), his mother, his three brothers and three sisters, and his 15 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Hunter 5th Ward Chapel 5065 W. Janette Ave (3985 S.). Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 pm on Thursday at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600S.) and 1 hour prior to the services on Friday at the Church.
