Evelyn Phillips 1916 ~ 2006 Evelyn Phillips, 89, passed away July 24, 2006, in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born on December 16, 1916, in Salt Lake City, to Hildur Erickson and Antone C. Anderson. As a child, Evelyn had wonderful memories of living on the grounds of Westminster College, as her father was the gardener for many years. She married McCoy Johnson May 23, 1936 (deceased). She married Paul Phillips November 20, 1973. Evelyn was famous for her homemade cookies, beautiful flower gardens and handmade Christmas Village, which truly was a work of art. She is survived by her loving sweetheart Paul; six children, Norrine Johnson, Toney (Cindy) Johnson, Merrill (Lou Dalton) Johnson, Joyce (Art) Beverleigh, Mike (Merry Dawn) Johnson and Ron (Jesse) Johnson; 4 step-children, Virginia (Mel) Schultz, Bob (Pat) Askerlund, Vera (George) Schrader and Gary Askerlund; sister Vie Newton; 67 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband McCoy Johnson, parents, and sisters Ester and Ann. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 12:00 Noon, at the Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East Murray, UT. Family and friends may visit 1hour prior to services and also Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary. Intermentm Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC.
