Ohio State University may try to recover more than the $64,000 salary Earle Bruce is to receive in his first year as football coach at the University of Northern Iowa.

John Elam, a lawyer who represented OSU when Bruce filed suit against the school last year, said the coach's income from television and radio shows and equipment endorsements might be due Ohio State under the terms of an out-of-court settlement.

Bruce was fired with one game remaining last season for reasons never disclosed by school officials. Athletic Director Rick Bay resigned in protest of the firing.
