Arthur Joseph Gogan, Jr. 1936 ~ 2006 Arthur J. Gogan Jr., our beloved father and grandfather was reunited with his wife Carolyn on June 5, 2006. Arthur J. Gogan was born on Feb, 21, 1936 in Winthrop, MA, the first child of Arthur J. Gogan, Sr. and Grace M, (Bernard) Gogan. He served in the US Navy from July 1954 -February 1974, retiring with the rank of Master Chief Petty officer. Shipboard service included the USS Nautilus and USS Seawolf. He later volunteered at the Fort Douglas Military Museum from 1991-2006, which was his "playground". He is survived by his six children, Paul, Mark, Pete, Thomas, Nanette, and Matthew, and nine grand-children. Special thanks to the caring staff of Hospice Alliance for their dedication and care, and to the Fort Douglas Military Museum where Art spent some of the happiest times of his retirement. Arthur will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers monetary donations to the Fort Douglas Military Museum would be appreciated. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane. Committal, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave. and T Street.
