Don Carlos Schow "Loving Husband and Father" Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Don Carlos Schow, departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 22, 2006. Don was born in Salt Lake City on December 29, 1923 to Johan Ulrich Schow and Johanna Nilsen Schow, along with his identical twin brother, Darrell. Don married Solveig Arnesen on February 8, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple and she has been beside him for 56 years. Their union was blessed by five children. Don served an honorable mission to Norway where he met Solveig for the first time. He was a master carpenter and craftsman, an artist in his work and a master of all he did. He continued working until his 80th year when he retired to attend to the health requirements of his wife and himself. We will always remember his devotion to Solveig and their children. We will also remember his sense of humor. He had the medical staff laughing as long as he was able. Don is survived by his wife, Solveig, four of his five children, Don, Jo Ann, Annette (Jim Mietchen), and Timothy (Leslie) and 11 grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters, Norma Nagy, and Darlene Voorhees, and one brother, Gordon Schow. Don was preceded in death by, and is now reunited with, his son Robert, his parents, his sisters Pricilla, and Ruth and his brothers, Ralph, Joe, John, Darrell, Ray, and Richard. Many thanks to Dr. Glenn and everyone at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their excellent care of our husband and father. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 28, 12:00 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and 'N' Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Online condolences www.larkinmortuary.com
