Deanna Jean Goodwill Berntson 1938 ~ 2006 Daughter, mother, grandma, sister, and friend. Deanna Jean Goodwill Berntson passed away Friday February 10th 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah from many complications of her courageous battle with diabetes. Deanna was born December 31, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Claude W. Goodwill and Phyllis Dangerfield Goodwill Hansen. Deanna was a graduate of South High School. She and her brother, David Goodwill, were a "Song and Dance" team and in 1953 won a trip to New York City to perform on the Ted Mack Television Show. Deanna then married Clarke Berntson (later divorced). They had two sons together, Shaun (deceased 1992) and Darin. Her children were the most important thing in the world to Dean-na. She was also a very proud grandma. Her only grandson, Anthony (10 years old), was the light of her eye. She loved his company, his "backward hugs" and watching him grow up. She wished she could have seen more of the sports and other activities he participated in but could not due to her ailments over the last few years. Deanna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the past few years Dean-na was being lovingly cared for by her incredibly unselfish and loving mother Phyllis. Deanna was looking so forward to getting better from a fall she recently had that fractured her ankle and rendered her unable to walk. She had just entered a rehab and care facility and was in good spirits knowing she would be home in a month or so. Her unexpected death was an absolute shock to us all, as we know she still had so much life to live and even more love to give. She will be sorely missed by everyone, especially her mother, son, and grandson. We love you always and forever, your mother, son, grandson, brother, and friends. Deanna is survived by her son, Dar-in; grandson, Anthony; brother, David A. Goodwill, and wife Carolyn; moth-er, Phyllis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A viewing will be Tuesday, February 14, 2006, 7-9 p.m. and again one hour prior to services at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 12 noon at Mountain View Mortuary. Interment to follow services.
