Harold Leroy Carter 1923 ~ 2006 Harold LeRoy Carter passed away peacefully to rejoin his Heavenly Family on Friday, January 13th at home in Washington, Utah, (formerly of Provo). He was born on August 9th, 1923 in McCornick, Utah to Roy and Annie Marie Larsen Carter. Harold graduated from Cyprus High School in 1941. He married Evelyn Mae Hooper of Annabella, Utah on February 23, 1943. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on Nov. 20, 1951. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions, one of his favorites being a BYU Branch President. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force during which time he graduated with a bachelors and masters degree from Brigham Young University. After retiring in 1963 from the military, he taught 15 years in the LDS Church Education System. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his children Michael (Vickie) Carter, Boise, ID; Virg (Donna) Carter, Silver Lakes, CA; Susan (Phil) Robinson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Hal Carter, Brian Head, Utah; Marilyn (Mitch) Leavell, West Jordan, Utah; and a foster son George (Jenny) Barton of Highland, Utah; 20 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Della Christensen, Mildred Olsen, Lena Jensen, and Linda Johnson and brother Junior Carter. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, his son Willam R, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice and especially to Angela Saxton who was an angel to our family during the last four months. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 20th at 11 o'clock at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd. Bluffdale. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be immediately following services in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary of Orem.
