Obituary: Faafili Lealaitafea

Faafili Lealaitafea, 84, of Orem, Utah, passed away Nov. 29, 2003.

She was born March 13, 1919, in Western Samoa, a daughter of Lio and Lily Leota Brown. She married Mulifalaula Lealaitafea on November 17, 1945 in Malie, Western Samoa. He preceded her in death.

She worked as a housekeeper and custodian at the Church College of Western Samoa and the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii for many years. She loved genealogy, singing, dancing and her family.

Faafili was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions, including Primary President, Relief Society President, Primary and Sunday School teacher. She served three missions with her husband, as well as a temple mission to Samoa.

She is survived by five sons and two daughters, Vaifoa Lealaitafea, Samoa; Lester Lealaitafea, West Jordan; Vaase Lealaitafea, Chicago; Lavender Lealaitafea, Salt Lake; Vilivili Lealaitafea, Florida; Vernetta Cline, Orem and Ruta Westin, Oakdale, MN. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 30 great-grand-children, three brothers and one sister; Vaifoa Brown, Provo; Tiloi Brown, Murray; Teleni Brown, Kearns; Sigalu Solipo, Western Samoa. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Geneva Heights Stake Center, 560 North 500 West, Orem, Utah under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem, Utah. Family and friends may visit Thursday evening at the

Geneva Heights 3rd Ward, 857 West 800 North, Orem,

from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Stake Center on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills

Cemetery.
