Obituary: Lola Clayburn Wheelwright

Lola Clayburn Wheelwright died at home, surrounded by her loving family, on November 1, 2003, after a short bout with cancer.

She was born January 27, 1917, in Charleston, Utah, the daughter of Francis (Frank) and Edith Maria Brown Clayburn. She married Farrell John Wheelwright on May 1, 1936, in Midway, Utah. Sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 29, 1981.

Lola lived in Park City, Utah for 61 years before moving to Riverton, Utah, in 1997.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was serving as a visiting teacher at the time of her passing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a full-time homemaker, an exceptional seamstress, a talented home decorator in her own home and shared that talent with many others. She also enjoyed reading and gardening. Lola particularly loved time in her home and with her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Lou Toly Woodward, Charlotte (Gary J.) Frantz, Linda (Gary D.) Reed, and Pamela Wheelwright; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grand-children, one great-great grandchild; sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Richards, Leo (Jo) Clayburn, Don (Jackie) Clayburn, Grant (Connie) Clayburn, Doris (Sam) Coulson, and Jane (Duane) Brinkerhoff; sisters-in-law, Elda Clayburn Thompson, Helen Clayburn, Melba Gilson, and Ruby Carlson. Preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Levi Lynn Reed; her parents and parents-in law; one sister, Rena Thomas; two brothers, Merrill Clayburn and Jay Clayburn; one sister-in-law, Joanna Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverton Park Ward Chapel 12950 South 1300 West. Family and friends may call on Tuesday November 4, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State St., Sandy, Utah.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the chapel.

Interment Midway Utah Cemetery.

The family extends special thanks to Hearts for Hospice.
