Obituary: Wayne Derral Thomas
Wayne Derral Thomas, 92, passed away Nov. 2, 2003 in Orem, Utah.
Born 19 Aug 1911 in Shelly, Idaho to George and Jessie Matilda (Thompson) Thomas.
Married Margaret Rebecca Brusnahan on Aug 11, 1939 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1991.
As a member of the L.D.S. Church he served as an executive secretary to four bishops, finance clerk and membership clerk. He also taught Melchizedik Priesthood and Gospel Doctrine classes. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and the Spanish language.
He is survived by his children: Patrick (RoseAnn), Orem, Utah; Kathleen (Metaese) Gasu; West Jordan,; E. David (Sue Ann) Salt Lake City; Wayne Jr. (Melonie), Peoa, Utah; Sean, Georgetown, TX and Sharon LaRae Thomas, West Jordan, Utah. Brothers, Vernon "Scotty" Thomas, San Diego, CA and Louis "Skip" Thomas, Blackfoot, Idaho and sister, Mable Morris, Tooele, Utah. 32 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret and 13 brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Peoa L.D.S. Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Peoa Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home, Kamas, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, donations to missionary funds or the charity of your choice in Wayne's memory would be very appreciated.
