Roland Hardy Losee, 81, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2003 from a sudden illness and complications due to surgery, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 22, 1922 to Burton and Edna Hardy Losee. He married Thelma Gene Nostrom on February 11, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Roland was an active member of the LDS Church, where he served faithfully in many leadership positions. His great love was giving service in the Provo Temple and was currently serving in the High Priest Group Presidency in the 10th Ward. He was also proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Roland was a good and generous person and was always caring for the needs of others.

Roland was employed by Geneva Steel, and owned and operated his own grocery store in Payson, Utah. Later he worked for BYU for 15 years, from which he retired.

He is survived by his loving wife, Thelma, of 57 years; one son and three daughters: Leon (Kristi) Losee of West Jordan, Utah; Diane (Lynn) Leifson of Spanish Fork, Utah; Connie (Mike) Lee and Suanne (Brad) Backman, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Verl Losee.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Spanish Fork 10th Ward Chapel, 381 East 400 North. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery with full military rites.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend will be greatly missed, yet memories of him will always dwell in our hearts.
