Our dear mother and grandmother, Edna Fugal Holdaway, 87, of Pleasant Grove passed away on Wednesday, September 10th 2003 of causes incident to age.
She was born August 27th, 1916 in Pleasant Grove to Niels and Viola Young Fugal.
Edna was the fourth of eight children.
She married Robert David Holdaway on October 28th, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Pleasant Grove, where they raised their six children: Jeanne (Melvin D.) Westenskow, Orem; David (Regula), Pleasant Grove; Steven (Nancy), Hermosillo Mexico Mission; Barbara Hill, Sandy; Boyd (Louise), Provo; Debra (Devon) Hunt, Pleasant Grove. She has 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Edna was involved in civic organizations and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She devoted her life to supporting and loving her family and friends. She was a gifted listener and mentor to young and old alike. She worked for many years at the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork. Her good humor and listening ear made her a choice friend to many people. Edna had a spirit of adventure and loved to travel, especially to visit her children.
Edna is survived by her children; and her siblings: Lucille Turner, Springville; Boyd (Venice) Fugal, Pleasant Grove; Joyce (Kent) Giles, Cedar City;
Grant (Jeniel) Fugal, Pleasant Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sisters: Melba Gooch and Avis West; brother, Neil Fugal; son-in-law, Floyd Hill; and grandson, Floyd Andrew Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13th, 2003 at the LDS Chapel, 400 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the chapel. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
