Keith Johnson needed six stitches to close the cut over his right eye that he suffered Wednesday when a ball he fouled off, came up and hit him in the face . . . Adam Riggs was called up to Anaheim to take the roster spot of Bart Miadich, who was sent back to Salt Lake. This is Riggs' first call-up since 2001 with San Diego . . . Infielder Adam Pavkovich, who was called up from Class-A Cedar Rapids, becomes the first former Provo Angel to join the Stingers. Pavkovich hit .283 with one homer and eleven RBI in twenty-seven games for Provo before his promotion to Cedar Rapids . . . The save for Emanuel was the first of his professional career in only his third career relief appearance.
