The Tuesday launch of a Pegasus XL rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California included components produced by Alliant Techsystems' Utah operations.
The rocket motor cases and the interstage forming the Pegasus vehicle's main structure were produced in Clearfield. The Orion solid-fuel rocket motors used for all three stages of the air-launched vehicle are made in Magna.
The rocket carried the Scientific Satellite Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment spacecraft into space for NASA and the Canadian Space Agency.
Alliant is based in Minneapolis.
