CEDAR CITY — Southern Utah gymnastics head coach Scott Bauman announced the signing of Vancouver, Wash., native Alyssa Click to a national letter of intent, bringing the 2009-10 signing class to three after earlier signings of Caitlin Kennedy (Temple, Texas) and Michaela Chernoch (Naples, Fla.) in November.

Click is a two-time Region 2 all-around champion, claiming the title in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, she also qualified for the level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals, finishing fourth on the uneven bars, fifth on the balance beam and 13th in the all-around. Click graduated with honors and will look to pursue a degree in business management or nutrition.

"Alyssa is very strong on bars and beam," Bauman said. "She has some unique skills and we are excited that we were able to get such a quality gymnast this late. She will be a solid and consistent contributor to the team."

The 2009-10 gymnastics season is slated to begin on January 29 when the Thunderbirds travel to Sacramento State to open the season.
