Today on TV
Secrets of the Founding Fathers (6 and 9 p.m., History): A look at the founding fathers' ties to Free Masonry, including Masonic symbols on the Great Seal of the United States, currency and and the design of Washington, D.C.
American Idol (7 p.m., Ch. 13): I'm sorry, but this has to be the dumbest "tribute" to Michael Jackson on TV — and there's a lot of competition for that title. Fox is repeating the March 10 "Idol" episode in which the 13 finalists sang Jackson songs. And some of them sang Jackson songs badly. Like Utahn Megan Joy, who slaughtered "Rockin' Robin" — this was the week when she cemented her image for being odd by crying, "Caw! Caw!" at the end of her performance. Judge Simon Cowell declared it a "stupid song choice" before going on to say, "The vocals weren't very good. The dancing was verging on ridiculous. The whole performance was clumsy and awkward." What a lovely tribute to Jackson.
The Closer (7 p.m., TNT): Brenda and her squad join forces with the FBI to investigate a murder tied to drug trafficking at gay dance parties.
History Detectives (8 p.m., Ch. 7): Among the items investigated in this episode is one that may have been used to build the atomic bomb.
Raising the Bar (8 and 10 p.m., TNT): Jerry defends his client against Balco's aggressive prosecution.
Here Come the Newlyweds (9:02 p.m., Ch. 4): Utahns Jed and Sarin Hinkins were in danger of elimination last week but survived. Now it's down to the final four couples.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager (9 and 11 p.m., ABC Family): Grace feels responsible for her father's death; Ben wants a place in Amy's life.
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-list (11 p.m., Bravo): Kathy goes shopping with Paris Hilton.
Weeds (11 p.m., Showtime): Nancy is visited by a DEA agent who has gone rogue.
Nurse Jackie (11:30 p.m., Showtime): Zoey loses a patient.
