He will be coordinating both summer and fall programs for the Rams baseball program.
NEW COACH ON THE HARDWOOD: Layton Christian has a new girls basketball coach. Shara Fernandes was a three-sport stand-out at Ben Lomond High School and was also a member of the first Weber State University Women's soccer team. She has coached various sports teams and was the head girls basketball coach at Northridge High from 2001-05.
"Shara knows how to build an athletic program," said Bobby Porter, the head coach of LCA's boys program who worked as an assistant at Northridge when Fernandes was there. "She has great communication skills and relates well to players. She is a high energy person who will bring a sense of excitement to the program."
