Free and reduced-price activities abound this summer

The zoo has discount admission coupons or special offers available through community partners. Most of these offers are valid only for a short period of time and always feature an expiration date, but they will reduce the zoo's $9 adult fee, or the $7 senior or child admission.

Pick up a Foothill Cultural District brochure at any Utah lodging facility or visitor's center. The coupon inside is good for $1 off any regular-priced daytime admission. Expires July 31.

If you have a KUED membership card, that can take $1 off of a regular admission.

Purchase any Valvoline Professional Series services for your vehicle and receive a certificate good for one free admission of equal of lesser value with the purchase of an adult ticket. Expires Aug. 31.

Zoo guests with a 2009 Cherry Hill season pass can receive one free child's admission ticket with the purchase of one adult ticket.

Buy a 12-pack of Dr Pepper or Diet Dr Pepper that features the Madagascar can and bring it to the zoo for a free child's ticket with the purchase of one regularly priced adult ticket.Certain restrictions apply. Expires Sept. 6.

Cherry Hill Camping Resort

Get a $3 discount on a $17 all-day splash pass at this Fruit Heights attraction; or do two rock climbs for $4; or get a 10 percent camping discount. Go to www.cherry-hill.com.

Crystal Springs

Regular pool passes for this Honeyville, Box Elder County, attraction are $6 for adults and $4.50 for children and seniors; and $10 for all ages for a pool and slide pass.

Go on Monday nights at 8 p.m., and swim for only $2 a person or $4 for a pool/slide pass.

Visit on Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the summer and a pool pass is just $2 or $5 for a pool/slide pass for kids, ages 3-12.

Salt Lake Connect Pass

This new pass from the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau, will get you into 13 different attractions located within one hour of Salt Lake City. The cost for adults $20 for one day, $30 for two days, or $40 for three days. Children's passes are less. From Discovery Gateway to the Snowbird tram to Red Butte Gardens to the Living Planet Aquarium and more, you could save a bundle at each attraction.
