Ben Clifford, 6-8, Bingham: A power forward that committed to Utah State last fall. Great motion for big man. Quick around the basket and has an effective range of 17-feet in. Great fit for the Aggies and has been in USU's camp for some time.

Nick Paulos, 6-6, Olympus: A guard who has grown four to five inches in the past year and half. He is a big-time, 3-point shooter growing into his body. He is on the rise in the recruiting scene. UC Santa Barbara, Weber State, Northern Arizona and a spattering of mid-majors have expressed interest.

Tyler Fa'alogo, Copper Hills: He is a quick, crafty guard who has a fast first step to the basket. When he gets it going, he can score in bunches. Recruiting just starting for him this spring. He is finally maturing and recruiters have him on their radar.

Grade 10

Tyrell Corbin, West High: A 5-10 guard who helped lead team to a state championship. Quick point guard who has maturity and strength beyond his years. Mid-major player whom recruiters are aware of.

Corbin Miller, Brighton: Is a 6-2 guard considered a big-time shooter who has been on the clipboard of scouts and recruiters since the eighth grade. Is being watched closely by Pac-10, Big 12 and other major conferences and mid-majors.

Story continues below

Brant Mecham, Box Elder: This 6-5 Box Elder son of a coach has really turned heads with his scoring range. He's started on varsity since his freshman year. Recognized as one of the top 3-point shooters in the state the past two years.

Austin Bankowski, Woods Cross: A 6-6 guard/forward kid who is skilled and continues to grow and will gain more notice in July during summer tournaments.

Nate Fakahafua, Highland: This 6-4 guard is athletic and skilled and has developed a nice outside shot. He is bigger and stronger than most kids his age. Mid-majors are curious to watch his development. He may receive some attention from recruiters to play football.

Grade Nine

Nick Emery, Lone Peak: It may be early to peek at freshmen, but nobody's making a bigger splash than this 6-1 bomber, the younger brother of BYU guard and former Utah Mr. Basketball Jackson Emery. For two years, he's turned heads with games in which he's knocked down as many as six and seven 3-pointers, some from NBA range. He is a better shooter than most seniors in the state.
