Utah Jazz: 'Hot Rod' signs off after 30 years behind the microphone
It was good if it goes, and so went the broadcasting career of Utah's 'Hot Rod' Hundley. With the Jazz season coming to a close Monday at the hands of the Lakers, the voice of the Jazz officially retired as he left one last sound bite for the fans to enjoy.
"I want to thank everybody around the state of Utah. They have been so kind to me over the years, 30 years here in Salt Lake City," said Hundley. "Everywhere going around with the Jazz, the kids and being a part of the program that they ran, talking to people all over the state, traveling, meeting new people, and the crowd and the way they react, it is just unbelievable. . . I can't believe that I've been so happy.
"It's been a long run and a good one for me . . . Thank you and I love you all."
