BRYCE WINTER FESTIVAL
The 24th annual Bryce Canyon Winter Festival will be held Feb. 14-16 at Ruby's Inn located on the outskirts of Bryce Canyon National Park.
With the exception of archery biathlon and cross country ski races, all activities are free and include yoga, archery, kayaking clinics, cross country ski and snowshoe tours, photography, crafts for kids and a photo contest.
Reece Stein, reporter/host of the "At Your Leisure" television program, will present "Your Trip to the Seventh Continent," highlights of a trip to Antarctica.
Bryce Canyon National Park will conduct ranger-guided snowshoe hikes and geology talks. Dixie National Forest will also lead snowshoe tours. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snowshoes and skis. Limited rentals are available.
Kevin Doxstater will present "Astronomy Through the Ages" — a free multimedia program at Bryce Canyon National Park's visitors center, and participants will later view the stars through telescopes, weather permitting. Afterward, Ruby's Inn will host a free Valentine's Day dance.
Fee for the archery biathlon and the cross country race is $10 and includes a long- sleeve T-shirt. The archery biathlon will be Feb. 15 and the cross country event Feb. 16 and will include a 10K and 2K kids race.
For more information and current snow conditions, call Ruby's Inn at 1-800-468-8660 or check the Web site, www.rubysinn.com.
