Can't go to Washington, D.C., for the inauguration of Barack Obama? The Utah Democratic Party is hosting an inaugural ball in Salt Lake City on inauguration day.

The ball will be held at The Depot, 13 N. 400 West, and costs $50 per person. The event begins at 7 p.m. on Jan. 20 and will continue through at least 10 p.m..

"We are very excited to be hosting an inaugural ball in Utah," said Utah State Democratic Chairman Wayne Holland. "We saw unprecedented enthusiasm during President-elect Obama's campaign, and we are expecting a large crowd to turn out to celebrate his inauguration."

Entertainment will include state Senate candidate John Rendell's band Mean Phoenix and the Saliva Sisters.

More information and links to purchase tickets is available at utdemocrats.org. The party also is planning additional events in St. George and Park City.
