KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Wizards re-signed forward Claudio Lopez on Monday, allowing the club to remove the designated player tag from the Argentine star.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 34-year-old Lopez had six goals and seven assists in MLS play after signing with the Wizards before the 2008 season. He had a goal in two assists in a late-season win over San Jose that helped the Wizards reach the playoffs.
