Was: 14. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Panthers ran the table on a pretty easy preseason schedule, but now things get interesting with region play beginning this week. Next up: vs. Cottonwood, today.

14. Olympus (4-3) Class: 4A

Was: 14. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Preseason losses to Bingham, Alta and Skyline should only help the Titans heading into Region 6 this week. Next up: vs. Murray, today.

15. Jordan (7-3) Class: 5A

Was: 19. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: If the 'Diggers can develop some consistency, they might actually become a contender in Region 2. If not, they're destined to finish third or fourth in league play. Next up: vs. Hillcrest, Friday, Jan. 16.

16. Bountiful (4-3) Class: 4A

Was: 16. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Last year's 4A runner-up finally started to get things figured out during the holiday break. Next up: at Roy, today.

17. Highland (4-3) Class: 4A

Was: 15. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The Rams are good enough to compete for the Region 6 title, and the experience gained playing in the San Diego Surf 'n Slam over the Christmas break can only aid their chances. Next up: at Cyprus, today.

18. Pleasant Grove (6-4) Class: 5A

Was: 13. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: Today's game against Alta is Pleasant Grove's last chance to pick up a victory over a marquee team prior to region play. Next up: vs. Alta, today.

19. Springville (4-4) Class: 4A

Was: —. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Since an 0-3 start to the season with losses to Lone Peak, Pleasant Grove and Lehi, the Red Devils have posted a 4-1 record, and that lone loss was a 63-61 defeat to Jordan in the Logan Tournament championship game. Next up: at Payson, Tuesday, Jan. 13.

20. Woods Cross (6-3) Class: 4A

Was: —. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The Wildcats have won four of their last five heading into league play, and they should be able to compete with Bountiful and Mountain Crest for the league title. Next up: at Bountiful, Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Dropped out: No. 16 Clearfield, No. 20 Brighton.
