Tonight's game has a little extra meaning for Cougar freshman Noah Hartsock. The recently-returned missionary was a highly recruited prep star in Oklahoma but shunned the local colleges in favor of BYU. Hartsock, however, has only played briefly in the past six games after suffering a severe ankle sprain in early December but is expected to see time on the floor tonight in a reserve role.

"This is a really exciting opportunity for Noah and for his family to see him play," Rose said. "He played at Bartlesville High with Sam Mitchell, who is now a senior at Tulsa, which makes the matchup even more interesting... Noah has played very well in practice and is completely recovered from his ankle injury. He should really help us this week."

NOTES: The Cougars, even with the recent loss to Arizona State, are 32-2 the past two seasons in games in which they have scored 70 points or more ... BYU's 10-1 start is still the team's best in the past 21 seasons ... This will be the 12th meeting between the Cougars and Tulsa, with BYU holding a 7-4 advantage. BYU won the last meeting 68-49 in 2005 at the Marriott Center.
