Construction firms to give health center a new roof
The Stephen D. Ratcliffe Community Health Center's mission is to provide quality, patient-centered primary health-care services to individuals regardless of their ability to pay. Ivory Homes, McNeil Group Inc., ABC Supply and Collins Roofing Inc. have come together to provide a new roof for the aging health center.
The giving started in 1979 when Intermountain Health Care leased the Northwest Community Health Center (later renamed Stephen D. Ratcliffe CHC) for $1 a year to Community Health Centers Inc.
Then in 2005, Intermountain donated the building to the Community Health Centers Inc.
This past summer, Benjamin Havel, Jake Andra, Terrafirma Paint & Plaster and Sherwin-Williams in Sugar House volunteered to repair the drywall and paint the interior.
And now, during a recession, Ivory Homes, McNeil Group Inc., ABC Supply and Collins Roofing Inc. will provide a new roof. Through these in-kind donations, the Stephen D. Ratcliffe CHC will be able to expend the funds saved on patient care not a leaking roof.
The soon to be 30-year-old health clinic is also in need of new carpet and a resurfacing re-surfacing of the parking lot.
