The Salt Lake City Human Rights Commission continues its Dialogue on Discrimination series with discussions Thursday and Friday.

Racial discrimination will be the topic of Thursday's event, which gets under way at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Hall of the University of Utah School of Medicine, 26 S. 2000 East. Debra Daniels, director of the U.'s Women's Resource Center, and Erika George, a U. law professor, will begin the dialogue by addressing the detrimental impacts of racial discrimination.

At 5 p.m. Friday, discrimination on the basis of faith will be discussed in the special events room at Westminster College's Health, Wellness and Athletic Center, 1800 S. 1300 East. Westminster philosophy professor Michael Popich and student Dimple Singh will lead the discussion.

The events are free and open to the public.

Through the five-part series of public discussions, city officials intend to gather public input on discrimination issues in Salt Lake City to help inform the development of public policy. Previous dialogues have been held on poverty and people with disabilities.
