University Health Care is presenting its Health Hot Topics series at the Salt Lake Main Library Main Auditorium, 210 E. 400 South, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as well as Nov. 19 and Dec. 3.

Wednesday's program, "Medical Image Computing: From Data to Information," features the latest research and images connected with health-care topics. It provides a glimpse into the human body using unobtrusive imaging technology.

Separately, Dr. Kane Lainhart will talk about using a map of the brain to compare a normal brain's geography to brains with conditions such as Alzheimer's or autism.

The Nov. 19 event focuses on "Atrial Fibrillation: A Heart Beating to a Different Drum," with experts looking at arrhythmic disorders and a minimally invasive treatment for the common condition that's being pioneered at the University of Utah.

The third session targets "Sports Injuries in Children."

The library also is presenting a medical imaging art exhibit through Dec. 3, featuring actual medical images produced with today's technology, but presented artistically. All events are free and open to the public.
