3-day clinic about horses starts Oct. 17

KANAB — A three-day clinic for horse lovers and professionals will be held starting Oct. 17.

The clinic, which will be conducted by farrier/clinician/researcher Gene Ovnicek, will start Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at Holiday Inn Express, 217 S. 100 East, Kanab, and will run through Oct. 19. It is co-sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society and Equine Lameness Prevention Organization.

The clinic will feature lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training. Participants will learn about barefoot trimming, natural balance shoeing and the latest scientific findings to keep horses performing at their peak.
