Utah Utes soccer: U. gets back on track with win over the Aztecs
A little less than two minutes into Thursday night's game at Ute Field, Katy Reineke scored off an assist from Kelly Isleib. From there, the Utes added three more goals to roll to a 4-1 victory over the Aztecs.
Actually it wasn't that easy.
After Utah dominated the first half, the Aztecs took the initiative for much of the second half and tied the game with just under 15 minutes left.
However, the Utes came back with three goals in a five-minute span to put the game away.
"I really liked the energy in the first half, and we did some positive things," said Ute coach Rich Manning. "In the second half, we couldn't get control of the midfield and it led to a goal, but it was great to see how we bounced back."
SDSU's Cat Walker tied the score in the 75th minute and it looked like the two teams might be headed for overtime.
Two minutes later, Lauren Hair was pulled down in the box and Isleib scored after her penalty kick went off the SDSU goalkeeper and off the crossbar and Isleib was there to punch it in.
Isleib finished night with five points, the first time a Ute had done that in five years and her three assists were her first of the year.
The Utes (5-7-2) will play UNLV at Ute Field Saturday at 7 p.m., while the Aztecs (4-7-2) travel to Provo to play BYU.

Big win. Good to see the Utes rebound from that BYU loss.
