WEST VALLEY CITY — A motorcyclist was in critical condition Thursday morning following a late night traffic accident.

Investigators say according to witnesses, two motorcycles were traveling near 6300 West and 4700 South Wednesday when one man lost control and crashed, said West Valley police Capt. Tom McLachlan.

The man did not have a helmet and suffered severe head trauma, he said. The second motorcyclist did not stick around, however, and drove off, McLachlan said. Investigators today were trying to locate that second driver as part of their investigation into what caused the crash.
