Man killed in Grand County crash
It is unknown when the accident actually occurred, but UHP trooper Cameron Roden said it was discovered about 10 a.m. Monday by a passerby on I-70 near milepost 214. A 2006 Toyota Avalon had gone off the road, down an embankment.
"It looks like at the time of the crash, there possibly may have been some weather conditions and wet roads," Roden said Tuesday. "There could also be some impairment involved. They found a baggie of marijuana next to the body."
The car is believed to have gone off the left shoulder and hit a post. The driver swerved back to the right and the car started to spin, when it slid off the roadway and rolled down the embankment. The driver, identified as Muneeb Kamal, 23, of Glendale, Colo., was ejected from the car and died of head injuries, the UHP said.
