Snow College football: No. 4-ranked Snow outlasts Arizona Western
Quinn Mecham led the Badgers with three touchdown passes and running back Tyson Church added a pair of touchdowns one running and one receiving for the team's first league win.
"We made a lot of plays and came away with the win," said Snow head coach Steve Coburn. "This was a top-20 caliber team we played against. We knew they would put up a fight." Arizona Western started the scoring with a quick field goal before Church answered back with a 3-yard touchdown run with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter. Mecham connected with Peter Tuitupou for a 2-yard touchdown pass to extend the Badgers' lead to 14-3 early in the second quarter.
The teams traded touchdowns before the break for a 21-11 Snow halftime lead.
Led by a 271 yard passing performance by Mecham, the Badgers ran away with the victory.
