PROVO — A Santaquin woman died in a rollover accident in Utah County Wednesday afternoon.

Jodi Martinez, 40, was in a northbound car in the inside lane on I-15 just outside of Santaquin about 5 p.m. when the vehicle veered to the left, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden.

She overcorrected and clipped a dolly that was being pulled by a truck in the next lane.

Roden said her car went out of control and went off the right shoulder, rolling twice before she was ejected.

The woman was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown through one of the car windows, Roden said.

She was conscious and talking at the scene and refused to be flown to a nearby hospital.

Instead she was driven by ambulance to Mountain View Hospital in Payson, where Roden said her condition worsened.

At that point she was flown to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where she died.

The two males in the truck were not injured.

Police don't believe speed was a factor in the crash but are still investigating the cause, Roden said.
