OGDEN (AP) — City officials have agreed to fund part of a study for a proposed streetcar system in downtown Ogden.

The city's share of the $750,000 study will be $290,000. The rest will come from the Utah Transit Authority.

Three transit corridors will be studied in examining how best to move streetcars through downtown and to Weber State University and McKay-Dee Hospital Center.

The analysis will determine how many streetcars would be needed and where stations should be placed.

Greg Scott, a transportation planner for the Wasatch Front Regional Council, says he hopes the study can start in November and be finished next summer.
