BYU football: BYU 28, Washington 27
Play of the game: With two seconds remaining in the game, and BYU nursing a one-point advantage, defensive lineman Jan Jorgensen managed to block Ryan Perkins' 35-yard extra point attempt to preserve the victory.
Key Call: After Husky quarterback Jake Locker ran for a touchdown with two seconds remaining to pull Washington to within one point, 28-27, he heaved the ball in the air in celebration, drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty from the crew of Pac-10 officials. That forced Washington to attempt 35-yard long extra point, which was blocked.
Quotable: "I'm proud of our team. When it came down to making a play to win the football game, our players demonstrated their will one more time. That's a phenomenal thing." BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall
Up next: UCLA on Sept. 13 at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Grades
Offense: A-minus. The Cougars rolled up 475 yards of total offense with balance on the ground and through the air, but there is room for improvement they had an interception and a fumble.
Defense: B-minus. BYU allows Washington QB Jake Locker to make some big plays, though he rushed for only 62 yards.
Special teams: A-minus. BYU's punting was poor, but the blocked extra point attempt at the end was huge.
Overall performance: B-plus. The Cougars found a way to win on the road against a Pac-10 team.
