MormonTimes.com: London temple marks 50th anniversary

The London Temple was dedicated 50 years ago by LDS Church President David O. McKay, who then recorded in his journal: "I want to bring the temple to the people."

Its construction shortly followed a shift in post-World War II church membership emigration patters.
