A FEW RIVALRY-GAME NOTES: Bear River and Box Elder meet for the 88th time in their annual battle for the Golden Spike. Box Elder leads the 62-23-2 in a series that's been played every year since 1923. Only East and West have met more times (108) over consecutive seasons.

Payson tangles with Spanish Fork, also for the 88th time. Payson broke a six-game losing streak to the Dons last year and lead the series 43-39-4 in a series dating back to 1917.

Those two rivalries tie as the fifth most-played rivalries in the state.

Morgan and Park City clash for the 67th time; Morgan leads the series 32-30-4 since 1925.

Beaver and Milford meet for the 62nd time and first since 2005; Beaver leads 49-10-2, also since 1925.

The Logan at Sky View game is the 47th between these Cache Valley rivals. The Grizzlies lead 28-18 in their annual series dating to 1964.

Viewmont and Bountiful meet for the 44th time since 1964. The Vikings have taken five of the last eight from the Braves but trail in the series, 24-19.

ALSO: Juab and North Sevier play for the first time since 1996 and first time in the regular season since 1974. Juab leads has never lost to the Wolves in four games.

THIS FRIDAY'S MILESTONES: Dixie is gunning for its 350th win. Alta's Les Hamilton is going for his 50th career victory.

Parowan, now in its 61st season, is playing its 500th game and Duchesne, its 350th. Larry Eldracher (Woods Cross and now at East) and Robert Langston (Milford) are both coaching their 50th games.

FINALLY: For the second straight week, and for the last time this season, every team is in action.

FROM LAST WEEK: North Sanpete scored in its 80th straight game, the 22nd school to achieve that mark; the Hawks have the third longest active streak.
