Huntsman to speak tonight at memorial for crash victims
The service will begin at 7 p.m. in the Centrum Arena at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Mayor Gerald Sherratt will conduct the service that also will feature comments from SUU President Michael Benson; Dr. Robert Nakken, an orthopedic surgeon in Cedar City; and Elder Steven Snow of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The first of eight funeral services for victims of the plane crash began Wednesday and will continue through Saturday. The plane was transporting employees of Cedar City-based Red Canyon Aesthetics and Medical Spa dermatology clinic from visits at a rural clinic when it crashed. Investigators believe all aboard the Hawker Beechcraft were killed instantly.
Eulogized Wednesday in separate memorial services were Camie Vigil, 32, of Magna, and Keith Shumway, 29, of Kanosh.
Services for Mandy Johnson, 20, of Hurricane, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Hurricane LDS Stake Center, 677 S. 700 West. Johnson recently became engaged to Scott Barney of Hatch, Garfield County.
Services for Marci Marie Tillery, 29, will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Homestead LDS 2nd Ward building on Midvalley Road in Enoch, just north of Cedar City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank to Marci Tillery's memorial.
A funeral for David White, 42, is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Christ The King Catholic Church, 90 S. Cove Drive in Cedar City.
Joint memorial services are planned Saturday for the Ellsworth family, which lost Dr. Lansing Ellsworth, 50, and his son, Dallin, 23. Those services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Cedar North LDS Stake Center, 95 N. 2125 West. Plans have also been made to accommodate mourners at the University/Cedar City LDS Second Stake Building at 65 N. 900 West, if needed.
That afternoon, joint funeral services will be held for David Goddard, 60, and his daughter, Cecilee Goddard, 31. The service will begin at 1 p.m. at the Cross Hollow LDS Stake Center, 2830 W. Cody Drive in Cedar City.
