Here are this week's openings:

"Cinderella," Friday through Sept. 20, the Phoenix Theatre, Academy of Performing Arts, 3188 S. 400 East.

Adapted for the stage by Collin Kreuzer, this original production breathes new life into the classic fairy tale. The cast of 20 performers is led by Sarah Anderson, Traci Chidester, Jeff Spafford and Michelle Masefield.

Shows are Monday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees available, $10-$12 (801-486-2728 or www.academyofpa.org).

"Comedy Night at Center Street," Saturday night only, Center Street Musical Theatre, 177 W. Center St., Provo.

Bring the family to see the antics of David Fairchild, who has been performing stand-up comedy for 14 years at clubs, events and improvs. He'll be performing his newest show, "Shopping for Dummies or Dummies for Shopping." His humor and clean and family friendly.

Saturday's show is at 7:30 p.m., $8-$10, with a dinner option available (801-373-4485 or www.csmtc.com).

"For Love or Mischief," Wednesday through Saturday, Wellsville City, Wellsville Tabernacle, Center Street and Main Street, Wellsville.

This family-friendly 1920s-era melodrama follows the madcap adventures of a gang of ruffians in the small town of Edenville. Written by Dawnene Wilson, the play stars Chet Edlund, Jackie Kimball, Cameron Forbis, Steve Sluder, Bree Phelps, Conner Tuttle, Jennifer Coates and Justin Gliattli.

Shows are nightly at 7:30 p.m., admission is free, (435-245-0202).

"High School Musical," Friday through Sept. 20, Heritage Theatre, 2505 S. Highway 89, Perry.

Everyone's favorite high school class is back together. Join the jocks, the brainiacs, thespians and skaters and they all try to fit in. Featuring all the hit songs from the Disney made-for-TV movie.

Shows are Monday, Friday and Saturday nights, 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees available, $8-$9 (435-723-8392 or www.heritagetheatreutah.com).

"The Mousetrap," Friday night only, Big Cottonwood Room, Holladay City Hall, 4580 S. 2300 East, Holladay.

Holladay Arts Council is performing a staged reading of the Agatha Christie classic mystery. It stars W. Lewis Black, Donna K.W. Johnson, Jeremy Jonsson, Kathy Lee, Travis Metzler, Tony Kris Porter, Brooke Pugmire and Rett Neale.

Friday's show is 7 p.m., suggested donation is $2 for students, $5 for adults, $9 couple and $12 for families.

"Scary Poppins: Super-Nanny-Gone-Ballistic-Expialidocious!" Thursday through Nov. 8, Desert Star Playhouse, 4861 S. State, Murray.
