Utahn Kelsey Nixon didn't win the "The Next Food Network Star" reality series, but viewers voted her the Fan Favorite with 37 percent of the vote.

Nixon, a Brigham Young University broadcast journalism graduate, will receive a complete suite of Sears Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances, including a refrigerator, dual-fuel range and double-drawer dishwasher, plus $2,000 in Sears gift cards.

The 23-year-old was one of the last four finalists and was known for her sunny personality and ease in front of the camera. She also won several cooking challenges on the series. Her white chocolate tilapia dish is being featured n Red Lobster menus nationwide, and another winning recipe was featured in Bon Appetit magazine.

Nixon, who got married July 11, is living in Provo while her husband, Robby Egan, finishes an advertising degree. She said the duo plan to move to New York to pursue careers there.

While attending BYU, Nixon created and starred in over 100 episodes of her own college cooking show called "Kelsey's Kitchen."

A panel of judges that included celebrity chef Bobby Flay picked Aaron McCargo Jr. as the winner to star in his own Food Network series.
