OREM — Two Maverick employees in Springville helped police identify a suspect in an early morning robbery Sunday.

Provo police arrested a man Monday for investigation of the robbery and at least one other robbery in Orem early Sunday, according to a 4th District Court affidavit of probable cause.

The two Springville Maverick employees, a married couple, said a man entered the Maverick on 1509 N. 1750 West just after 5 a.m. Sunday wearing a wool cap on his head and a bandana over his face. They said the man, who said he had a gun, took $163 from the cash register, climbed over a fence and disappeared, according to the affidavit.

The male employee told police that a short time later, he saw a light-colored, four-door car with a black stripe traveling south toward 1500 North. The employee's description of the car was consistent with surveillance video, according to the affidavit.

The employees said the man was wearing a black T-shirt with the name of a rock band, blue jeans and white gym shoes, according to the affidavit.

Earlier, a Maverick in Orem was also robbed by a suspect with a similar description. That robber was wearing a different T-shirt and showed a knife.
