High School Basketball: Utah preps have great showing in Vegas hoops tourney
The members of the Pump N Run team are: Brandon Davies (Provo), Kyle Collinsworth (Provo), Ian Harward (Orem), Pablo Coro (Orem), Tyler Stahle (Woods Cross), Ray Tapusoa (Granger), Ryan Osterloh (Skyline), Skyler Halford (Timpanogos), and Sean Carey (Bountiful).
The team finished 4-1, including an undefeated 3-0 in pool play. They started tournament play with a win over Team Access, but then lost in the second round of the tournament play against one of Adidas Super Six teams, EBO 83-68.
The team was led in scoring and rebounding by Davies and Collinsworth, who earned double doubles in every pool play game. Halford and Tapusoa out-played their highly-recruited counterparts each game and have contributed with solid defensive efforts, according to coaches. Harward has also played some of the best big men in the country straight up and showed why he has major college offers already.
The team's finish was even more impressive considering they were without power forward Bronson Kaufusi, Timpview, and shooting guard Markus Duran, Murray, who were back in Utah playing football.
