ALUMNI UPDATE: The two-year offer sheet that ex-Jazz point guard Dee Brown signed earlier this month with Washington is believed to be only partially guaranteed, but Brown — who toiled last season in Turkey — apparently made a favorable impression while playing recently for the Wizards at the NBA Summer in Las Vegas.

"He pushed the ball, he was disruptive and he gave us a veteran presence out there," Wizards summer coach Wes Unseld Jr. told the Washington Post. "He's played in the NBA so he knows how to direct guys to spots and get them set before getting the offense going. I think he'll fit in with us."

Brown is expected to be Washington's No. 3 point behind Gilbert Arenas and Antonio Daniels.

"I'm very blessed and lucky to get an opportunity to play with such a great organization," Brown blogged on his personal Web site. "I say blessed because of the obvious ... I'm back in the NBA, and doing what I love for a living."
