Orem's Hightower survives elimination on 'Dance'
This week on Pioneer Day Hightower, 18, a ballroom dancer from Orem, broke the elimination chain.
After tallying up Wednesday night's votes, Hightower finished in Thursday night's Top 6.
Instead, 21-year-old Tennesseean Will Wingfield and Comfort Fedoke, 20, Texas, were voted off the show.
This was Fedoke's second time. She rejoined the contestants after finalist Jessica King suffered an injury last week and dropped out of the competition.
During the recent run of the program, a Utahn has been eliminated in each of the past three-consecutive weeks.
First it was 22-year-old Matt Dorame and then it was Thayne Jasperson, 27, both of whom dance for Orem's Odyssey Dance Theatre. Last week Manoukian, 21, a native of Kazakhstan who attends the University of Utah, was shown the door.
Tickets for the "So You Think You Can Dance" tour, which will hit the E Center on Sept. 23, will cost $35 and $54.50, at all Ticketmaster outlets on Aug. 2.
The tour will feature the program's Top 10 dancers Hightower, Manoukian, Fedoke, Wingfield, Mark Kanemura, Kherington Payne, Joshua Allen, Twitch Boss, Courtney Caliano and Katee Shean.
